In August 2023, Ana Davie, co-founder of the Davie Family Foundation, received a remarkable honor – she was crowned Queen Mother of Giabramcum Village in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the community. Among her notable achievements were the gifting of a Palm Oil Machine and the initiation of a groundbreaking project – the construction of a much-needed maternity ward.
Palm oil production stands as a vital industry in central Ghana, offering economic opportunities for small farmers, particularly women. Recognizing the potential for empowerment through this industry, Ana Davie spearheaded efforts to raise funds for an industrial, locally-made electric palm oil machine for the Gyabankrom Women’s Group.
This initiative not only supports local entrepreneurship but also empowers women by providing them with access to resources and economic independence. Currently, 61 women have registered for the program and have requested access to use the machine.
In addition to her endeavors in palm oil production, Ana Davie’s commitment to improving healthcare in the region is evident in the establishment of a maternity ward in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of Ghana.
In a region where childbirth often occurred in homes far from medical facilities, the construction of this ward is a beacon of hope for expectant mothers. With a capacity to accommodate 8-10 women at a time, the ward offers a safe and dignified space for childbirth and recovery.
The impact of these projects extends beyond the boundaries of Giabramcum Village, reaching eight communities and touching the lives of 3,000 individuals. With building plans in place and a budget of $47,000, the GO Fund seeks support to bring this vision to fruition. By donating to this cause, you can join Ana Davie and the Davie Family Foundation in championing accessible and compassionate healthcare for all. Together, let us create a brighter future for countless women and their families, filled with hope, resilience, and opportunity.
